Acting for Directors

July 29–August 6
Three Credits: $995, EDUC (graduate/educator)

Designed for educators and directors who are interested in studying acting and directing of Shakespeare's works. Noted instructors Ann Tully and Larry Whitesell guide participants through the preparation and performance of Shakespearean monologues, scenes, and directing labs.

Coaching and special discussions with Festival actors enhance the experience, culminating in the opportunity of performing on one of the Festival's stages. Tuition includes housing and tickets to five plays (Les Misérables is optional).

Enrollment Policies

  • Students must be sixteen years of age or older and/or have completed the tenth grade. (Shakespeare for Junior Actors and Playmakers are available for younger actors.)

  • High school students may receive university credit for classes taken.

  • An SUU concurrent enrollment form may need to be completed. The Festival Education Office will send as needed.

  • An emergency release form will be required for all applicants eighteen years of age or younger.

  • College of Professional Studies (CPS) is equivalent to Continuing Education credit. Education Department (EDUC) is graduate level credit.
