Theatre Methods for the Classroom: Elementary

July 16–18
Two Credits: $225, EDUC (graduate/educator)

Festival Education Director Michael Bahr explores methods of developing and implementing Shakespeare and theatre arts as a tool for varied elementary curricula. Topics include instructional games, script adaptation, and how to mount a play with limited time and resources. Tuition includes a ticket to The Merry Wives of Windsor, classroom materials, and special sessions with Festival actors.

Participants will also attend a performance of the Elementary Shakespeare Showcase.

Enrollment Policies

  • Students must be sixteen years of age or older and/or have completed the tenth grade. (Shakespeare for Junior Actors and Playmakers are available for younger actors.)

  • High school students may receive university credit for classes taken.

  • An SUU concurrent enrollment form may need to be completed. The Festival Education Office will send as needed.

  • An emergency release form will be required for all applicants eighteen years of age or younger.

  • College of Professional Studies (CPS) is equivalent to Continuing Education credit. Education Department (EDUC) is graduate level credit.
