Technical Employment Opportunities
Festival seasonal staff positions are available in all construction and backstage areas.

       

 

 

 

Utah Shakespearean Festival staff positions are available in all construction and backstage areas: carpentry, scenic arts, properties, lighting, hair and make-up, costumes, costume crafts, wardrobe, audio, stage crew, stage management, and display.

Company Selection

Non-performing positions are recruited by application (download below), recommendation, and interview. Early applications are encouraged. The deadline for technical positions is March 21.

Representatives from the Festival will be conducting technical interviews at the following locations:

  • Wisconsin Theatre Auditions: Madison, Wisconsin, February 8-9
  • MidWest Theatre Auditions: St. Louis, Missouri, February 22-24
  • SETC: Cattanooga, Tennessee, March 5-9
  • USITT: Houston, Texas, March 19-22

Summer Contract Dates

The majority of full-season company members must arrive in Cedar City on May 18. The first full company meeting will be on May 19. Rehearsal and construction dates are from May 19 to July 1. Some contract dates vary according to position. The majority of full-season company members are contracted through September 5 to allow for a company strike and housing checkout.

 

Fall Arrival

The majority of full-season company members must arrive in Cedar City on August 17. The first full company meeting will be on August 18. Rehearsal and construction dates are from August 18 to September 24. Some contract dates vary according to position. The majority of full-season company members are contracted through October 26 to allow for a company strike and housing checkout.    

Salary

All positions are salaried and vary according to experience and training. Contracts include living accommodations and a travel stipend.

Housing

The Festival can accommodate a limited number of married couples or long-time companions if both parties are members of the Festival company and prior arrangements have been made through the Personnel Office.
