The Guild of the Utah Shakespeare Festival

Get involved and become a vital part of the Festival;
join the Guild for its fiftieth year of service!

 

The Guild of the Utah Shakespeare Festival is a 501(c)(3) non-profit service organization founded to serve, support, and promote the Festival. It does so through dues, fund raising efforts, and volunteer service.

Services to the Festival Company

  1. Welcome Barbecue: May 8. This Guild-sponsored barbeque brings Guild members and the Festival company together for a great beginning to the season. Company and Guild members are free; Guild guests are $5 each.

  2. Backstage Store: The Guild's "store" supplies household goods to company members for a low rental fee.

  1. Gershwin's Broadway: An evening of music that follows the life of composer George Gershwin, performed by some of your Festival favorites. April 19 and 20, 2013, 7:30 p.m., Randall L. Jones Theatre. $18–50.

  2. Curtain Call Luncheons: Lunch and question-and-answers with Festival actors and artists. July 5, 12, 19, 26 and August 2, 11:45 a.m., SUU Alumni House. $17.50 in advance, $20 at the door.

  3. Showbiz Sundays Under the Stars: An evening showcasing the vocal talents of Festival actors, with local wines (or sparkling cider), cheese, and chocolates. July 21 and August 25, 8 p.m., The Iron Gate Inn, 100 W. 200 N., $42.

  4. Glimpse of the Past: A Variety Revue and Banquet: Celebrate fifty years of the Guild. August 10, 4:30 p.m., Gilbert Great Hall, SUU Hunter Conference Center, $55 per person or $400 per table of eight.

  5. Christmas in July Arts and Crafts Faire: A festival of food, arts, and crafts vendors. July 26 and 27, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Randall L. Jones Theatre lawn, free.

  6. Guild Merchandise: Costume fabric "Quiltations" and Festival season key chains are available at the Randall L. Jones Theatre Gift Shop.

  1. Parowan’s “Christmas in the Country” Bazaar: November 29-30, 10 a.m.–5 p.m. Iron County Fair Building

 

Membership

  1. Dues are $30 for individuals, $50 for couples, and $15 for students. Further donations are welcome. All dues and donations are tax deductible.

  2. The Guild donates all profits from activities, membership dues and donations to the Festival. Over $51,000 was donated by the Guild to the Festival in the last two years.

  3. Members joining by May 1 have names printed in the Summer Festival Souvenir Program.

  4. Members joining by August 1 have names printed in the Fall Souvenir Program.

  5. In addition to opportunities to volunteer for the Festival, Guild members receive free summer and fall company welcome barbecue invitations, a reduced rate on the Curtain Call Luncheon series, and an invitation to the Guild’s annual meeting on June 12 at the Alumni House, featuring festival company speakers.
