Student Access Cards Provide Affordable Option for Students

Cedar City, UT- In an effort to help students attend the Utah Shakespeare Festival at reduced costs, the Festival has announced the return of the Student Access Card. The card can be purchased for a one-time fee, and it gives the student the ability to attend as many Festival plays as he or she wants, at no additional cost.

The Student Access Cards are $35 and allow one student unlimited access to Festival productions from August 18 through October of this year. Students must present their student ID and another form of ID to purchase the Student Access Card at the Festival Ticket Office. To redeem the card for tickets, students must show their card and a matching student ID on the day of the show. Tickets are non-transferable.

Michael Bahr, education director, is thrilled the Festival is continuing this program. “Students are on limited budgets, but full of passion for what the Festival offers,” he said. These Student Access Cards offer an affordable option for students to enjoy the many Festival offerings. One performance at the Festival could cost the students the same amount as one Student Access Card. Students will be able to see any show and as many times as they would like.

Tickets are on sale for the Festival’s 53rd season, which will run from June 23 to October 18, 2014. The eight-play season includes Shakespeare’s Measure for Measure, The Comedy of Errors, Henry IV Part One, and Twelfth Night. The season will also include the world premiere adaptation of Jane Austen’s Sense and Sensibility written by Joseph Hanreddy and J. R. Sullivan, Stephen Sondheim’s Into the Woods, Steven Dietz’s adaptation of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes: The Final Adventure, and Boeing-Boeing by Marc Camoletti.
