Previously at the Festival: founded the Festival in 1962 with $1,000 budget and 3,276 paid admissions; has helped grow it to a budget of approximately $6 million and over 100,000 admissions; directed and acted in numerous plays; still involved in promotion and development

Awards: Burbage Award for Lifetime Service to the International Shakespeare Community, the Utah National Guard Bronze Minuteman Award, the Pioneer of Progress Award for the Days of ’47 in Salt Lake City, the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award, the Utah Theatre Association’s Lifetime Service Award, an honorary doctorate degree from Southern Utah University, the Institute of Outdoor Drama’s Mark R. Sumner Award, Brigham Young University's Distinguished Service Award, Geneva Steel's Modern Pioneer Award, the Cedar City Area Chamber of Commerce Arts Contribution Award, Southern Utah University's Outstanding Alumni Award, the Citizen Meritorious Service Award from the American Parks and Recreation Society, Utah Business Magazine’s Outstanding Business Leader, the First Annual Governor's Award in the Arts, the Distinguished Alumni Award from Brigham Young University, and many more
