Playmakers is the Festival's fun and exciting youth training for the young and young at heart! It is the perfect place to start for students six to seventeen.


The Playmakers Production

The 2017 Playmakers production will be Once on this Island, a highly original and theatrical Caribbean adaptation of the popular fairy tale, "The Little Mermaid." It garnered eight Tony nominations for its Broadway run, including best musical, book, and score. 

Public performances of the Playmakers version of Once on this Island will be in the Eileen and Allen Anes Studio Theatre. School performances will be April 8 at 2 p.m. and April 7 and 10 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $8.


The Playmakers Class

This two-week course which focuses on Shakespearean scene work, music, and dance, includes lessons on improvisation, collaboration, movement, voice, and more.

June 19–July 1 • 2–4 p.m.
Ages six to seventeen
Open registration, $90 per student* (includes a ticket to a Festival play)
