Southern Utah University • September 28 - 30, 2017


The forty-first annual Shakespeare Competition, hosted by the Utah Shakespeare Festival and Southern Utah University is scheduled for September 28–30, 2017. The competition gives junior and high school students from around the nation a chance to present material from Shakespearean literature in various artistic forms. This work is adjudicated by professionals in their fields, who also offer various workshops that can be attended for university credit.

2017 Competition: September 28 - 30
Registration deadline: September 15, 2017

The basic registration fee for each participating school is $200. Each additional competitive event is $75. Additional non-competing students are $5.

The following files are resources that can be utilized by your students in finding scenes for Shakespeare study and performance. Meg Grierson, former Spanish Fork High School Theatre Director, has created the Competition Scenes List. The Excel file was created by the Festival Education department. These resources can serve as suggestions for possible scene work
