In this hilarious Tony Award-winning musical, when Monty Navarro, a man of humble origins, discovers he is eighth in line to inherit an earldom in the distinguished D’Ysquith family, he realizes his chances of outliving these pesky relatives (all played by one actor!) are slim. So, he hatches a far darker plan of disposing of his unsuspecting relations without being caught in order to claim the title of Ninth Earl of Highhurst. All the while, he is also juggling romance in this uproarious musical comedy.

A comedic musical with farcical and darkly humorous elements. The play explores love, class, and includes mild sexual innuendo and double entendres. While presented in a zany comedic and stylized manner, the show involves multiple murders as a central plot point.
