Sensory-Friendly and All-Access Performances

The Utah Shakespeare Festival is pleased to present two Sensory-Friendly/All Access performances during the 2023 season at a reduced ticket price. This year’s performances are A Midsummer Night’s Dream at 8:00 p.m. on September 4 in the Engelstad Shakespeare Theatre, and Jane Austen’s Emma The Musical at 2:00 p.m. on September 9 in the Randall L. Jones Theatre.  We value the chance for everyone to experience the art of live theater in a positive and enriching way. These Sensory-Friendly/All-Access performances are for anyone who would benefit from a more relaxed theatergoing environment. This can include, but is not limited to, people with sensory sensitivities, anxiety, dementia, autism spectrum disorders, learning differences or challenges. However, the performance is open to everyone! These performances will include accommodations such as: house lights on at a low level throughout the performance, audience members welcome to stand, move around, and enter and leave the theater as needed, available sensory supports available (fidgets, earplugs, etc.), available captioning and audio descriptions, and more. Details available here.

For further information on these two performances, or access questions pertaining to the rest of the season, please contact the Education Department at 435-865-8333 or USFEducation@bard.org.

Tickets are only available by calling the Ticket Office at 800-PLAYTIX.

Ticket Office Policies

In Case of Rain

“Shakespeare-under-the-Stars” sometimes necessitates a poncho or a light wrap, so come prepared. The Engelstad Shakespeare Theatre is an outdoor space, with limited covering over the audience and stage. Performances will continue during inclement weather, possibly after short delays. We will make every effort to complete the performance, even if it is raining. Umbrellas are not allowed, but rain ponchos are appropriate. If a performance is cancelled before intermission, a credit will be issued to all guests in attendance at the performance. The Festival will not issue credits if the show is canceled after intermission.

Children Under Six

Children under the age of six years old (including infants and babes-in-arms) are not admitted to Festival plays. Also, some of our plays contain material that you may not consider suitable for your children. Please familiarize yourself with the plays before ordering tickets. Child care for those up to the age of ten is provided during all plays, but not during other Festival activities. Our professionally-staffed, safe, and state-licensed facility is located at 123 S. 300 West Street. The cost per play is $10 per child. All child care must be reserved through the Ticket Office by calling 800-PLAYTIX or going online.

General Policies

  • Group and Senior Discounts are available when you order online; other discounts are not available online.
  • Discounts and coupons are not retroactive, may not be combined with any other discounts, and must be asked for at the time of purchase.
  • All tickets are non-refundable.
